STATEMENT

I have always had an interest in art but working as a chemist I didn’t have the time to involve myself much. I did a few pieces in the 60s one

involving sheet metal and brass brazing  rods. Since my retirement I’ve created

over 50 canvases of boats that I have seen on my travels. I was inspired  by the Impressionists and Antonio Jacobson(Nautical Artist). In the past five years, I have changed my focus and have taken a number of Impressionist works into my computer, digitally alter them, then paint that image in oil. Several of my favorites were tributes to Monet's Impression Sunrise,

Van Gogh's “Starry Night Over the Rhone” and “Thistles” by Singer Sargent.

More recently I have focused on scenes from the Southwest painting them in oil on metallic foil surfaces of  copper, aluminum, and a gold “colored” material glued on canvas board. Many of are of Aspen Forests and some are less representational.

I have dabbled in cinematography since the early 70s and made about a dozen films short films for friends and family entertainment. I switched to digital around 2010. In 2020 my interest turned to 3-D printing and photogrammetry. I have colored a number of my printings in oil paint and coated them in epoxy for stabilization.
